Pray, Serve, Share God's Story of New Life
On Ash Wednesday, February 14, God brings us to the beginning of the Season of Lent.
We encourage you to take your family to Mass on Ash Wednesday February 14.
(Use pages 214 or 215 from your purple Una Familia de Fe workbook to draw a picture or write out a response to your experience at Ash Wednesday Mass for your Family Portfolio.)

For the next 40+ days until Easter Sunday, March 31, we focus on getting to know Jesus as our Savior in our minds, hearts, and actions through PRAYER, SERVING OTHERS, and reading God's WORD and SHARING God's Story of NEW LIFE with others.
We pray that our God will fill us with the Holy Spirit, purify our hearts and strengthen us in his LOVE.
This year, Ash Wednesday is also the Feast of St. Valentine's Day! St. Valentine was a priest during the early days of the Church. He is the patron saint of LOVE. This provides an opportunity for us to reflect on the TRUE Love of Jesus Christ. Remember John 3:16. Share God's LOVE in all of your celebrations on February 14....Keep God's tender compassion in mind as we receive our ashes on Ash Wednesday, knowing that we are children of God with the promise of new life at our baptism.
Let us humbly pray:
Lord please draw us closer to you in daily PRAYER
Please give us grace to empty ourselves of anything that
takes us away from knowing, loving and serving you.
Please give us grace to make right choices about how we
spend our time, talent, and treasures
Teach us to be loving to others we meet daily and serve
others wherever they need us.
May we learn to willingly bear the wounds of your Son,
for through his body he gave us life.
PRACTICE ONE OR MORE THESE PRAYERS DAILY THROUGHOUT LENT:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son,

ACT OF CONTRITION
My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong
and failing to do good,

CUARESMA 2024
Ore, sirva, comparta la historia de nueva vida
El Miércoles de Ceniza, 14 de febrero, Dios nos lleva al inicio de la Cuaresma.
Durante los próximos 40 días, nos concentraremos en conocer a Jesús como nuestro Salvador en nuestra mente, corazón y acciones.
Oramos para que nuestro Dios nos llene del Espíritu Santo,
purifique nuestros corazones y nos fortalezca en el amor.
¡Este año, el Miércoles de Ceniza es también la fiesta del Día de San Valentín! San Valentín fue sacerdote durante los primeros días de la iglesia. Es el santo patrón del AMOR.. Esto nos brinda la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre el VERDADERO Amor de Jesucristo. Recuerde Juan 3:16. Comparta el AMOR de Dios en todas sus celebraciones del 14 de febrero.... Tenga presente la tierna compasión de Dios al recibir nuestras cenizas el Miércoles de Ceniza, sabiendo que somos hijos de Dios con la promesa de una nueva vida en nuestro bautismo.
Con corazones humildes pidamos a Dios
Señor, por favor acércanos a ti en la ORACIÓN diaria .
Por favor danos la gracia de vaciarnos de cualquier cosa que nos aleja de conocerte, amarte y servirte.
Por favor danos gracia para tomar decisiones correctas sobre cómo gastar nuestro tiempo, talento y tesoros
Enséñanos a ser amorosos con los demás que conocemos diariamente y servimos otros donde nos necesiten.
Que aprendamos a soportar voluntariamente las llagas de tu Hijo, porque a través de su cuerpo nos dio vida.
