  2. Show the Children's Video and review the Psalm and Key Verse with your children.

  3. Get a bulletin when you go to Mass. Turn to the Kid's Corner for your children! Bring a clipboard, pencil, colored pencils or crayons for your children to work on the Kid's Corner during the Liturgy of the WORD when we listen to the readings from the Old and New Testament, Sing the Psalm and listen carefully to what we are taught from the Gospel HOMILY.

REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS in each Weekly SUNDAY MASS PREPARATION

Here is an example of Highlights for the Sunday Readings for Sunday, August 24, 2025

  1. OPENING PRAYER: Lord, I believe in you and trust you with all my heart. I want to accept and follow your will as Mother Mary did, even if I do not fully understand what you are teaching me. May my love for you and those around me be similar to the love you have shown me. In your Holy Name I pray, AMEN

  2. PRAY after Reading Luke 13:22-30: Lord, please help me to ALWAYS keep my eyes on you and PERSEVERE on your path for me even if it might be harder and take more work. (That's what Jesus means by the narrow gate!)

REMEMBER TO TAKE the Children's Mass Book so your child/youth can follow along noticing something special each week: e.g. Color that the priest is wearing and what that color means, the prayers that the priest says so that Jesus comes into the bread and wine.

AFTER MASS

  1. As a family, share something you noticed, enjoyed, and/or learned from Jesus in the Mass today.

  2. Place your notes and the highlighted copy of the readings and meditations in your Family Portfolio.
